KGY Radio

I was asked to volunteer at the 75th Anniversery for KGY radio. This event was an open house to all listeners. The listeners all came in and had the chance to see the station and how everything works. I was the tourist guide and showed them where everything is aired, where the towers are and how they work, the news room, and the commercial room. I find radio stations so fasinating because i never actually understood how everything worked. I was given the tour and showed how it all works and then had to give my own tours. Listeners were so pleased to be there and to see the station. There was lots of cake, cookies, and refreshments for everyone aswell. I talked on the radio a bit about what im doing as Miss Thurston County...the listeners had already heared me a few times before so i just gave them an update from the time i was crowned. I had a wonderful time and absolutly adore KGY radio, they are a wonderful group that cares a lot about their listeners.
