YWCA

Today i spent my morning with some outstanding girls. I was at the YWCA club house and got to play games and make wire art. We played girls with out limits scatagories. It was a lot of fun...i forgot how hard that game really is! During the wire art activity i made a crown out of wire, it was really cute and i put it into my trunk of my car when i left and i think it may have got smashed so i should probably get that piece of art work out of there and relive it of its damage. Anyways back to the YWCA, i also helped out at the other bank which is where they have donations of personal higiene items and random other items for community members who are in the need of them. I met this older man who said he was 66 years old and he is one of the sweetest and wise men i have met. He said that he had seen me before and i told him who i was and he says "oh yes i remember...i saw you on that car waving...", it was from the parade i was in...I laughed and said yes that was me. I told him a bit about the program and what i am doing in schools with my platform. He had a smile on his face the whole time. He told me a quote out of a movie that he tells high school students...if you want to be somebody, you want to do something, you gotta work! I totally agreed with him and agreed to pass on the quote. I had a great time at the YWCA and i am excited to go back and spend some more time with the organization and the young girls.
